Sainbury's have recalled a batch of Be Good To Yourself Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilau Rice (frozen) due to the presence of egg, gluten (wheat & barley) and soya as a result of a packaging error.

Recalled batch details:

  • Sainsbury's Be Good To Yourself Chicken Tikka Masala with Pilau Rice
  • 450g
  • Frozen ready meal
  • Best Before End Mar 2008

The allergens egg, gluten (wheat and barley) and soya are present as some packs have been incorrectly filled to contain sweet & sour chicken with egg fried rice, instead of chicken tikka masala. This means that the allergens egg, gluten (wheat and barley) and soya are not declared on the packaging, and make the product unsafe for customers who are allergic or intolerant to egg, gluten (wheat and barley) and soya, or are on a coeliac diet.

Sainsbury's has withdrawn the batch involved, and have made customers aware of this issue, as well as contacting Allergy UK and the Anaphylaxis Campaign so that they can inform their at-risk members.

Customers should not eat the product and return it to any Sainsbury's store for a full refund.

No other Sainsbury's products are affected by this recall.
