With the festive season approaching what alcoholic drinks can I have?

This is a question that is frequently asked of us, and we are currently in the process of creating a section completely devoted to alcohol. However in the meantime...

Jenny Boyle has kindly spoken to some manufacturers and sent the details to us: "Gordons Gin and Bombay Sapphire contain a mix of grains including wheat, these should be avoided. Vintage Roots ( www.vintageroots.co.uk) based in Reading and Vinceremos ( www.vinceremos.co.uk) based in Leeds stock both organic gin and vodka that is not wheat based."

So, what else is there? Below are some links to the supermarkets lists of their own brand wheat free goods, including of course alcohol.

Sainsbury's
Waitrose
Co-op
Asda
Tesco - will not allow access to their products on the Tesco website unless you sign up for online grocery shopping

Plus Champagne, Sparkling Wine, White Wine, Red Wine, Brandy, Cognac, Grappa, Mead, Ouzo, Rum, Sake, Tequila. These should all be wheat free, however manufacturers do change their ingredients without notice, so it is always advisable to double check at regular intervals with the manufacturer. Happy drinking!!!
