Wheat & gluten free chocolate Easter Eggs
Whether you observe Easter for religious reasons, take part just for the children, or simply love chocolate,
the extravagant looking chocolate eggs on sale really are a sumptuous treat.
What makes them so special?
Well, we think it's because they are not on sale all year round. They suddenly appear on the shelves
and then before the holiday weekend is even over they have magically disappeared again, not
to be seen for nearly another
12 months.
Our advice is they're not around for long, so make the most of it and order some of the elegant Easter treats we've selected from
Hotel Chocolat.
However a word of caution: While some of the easter eggs on Hotel Chocolat have the symbol showing; "Gluten-Free Recipe - This product does not use any gluten in the recipe, however, it may contain traces of gluten**", they do also cover themselves by making the footnote; "** Other Allergies (including Gluten and Lactose intolerances) Cereals containing gluten, milk products, fruit containing sulphur dioxide and sesame are all handled within our factory. Further information is available detailing when these are used as an ingredient in a product, unfortunately, we cannot guarantee all products are free from traces of these allergens."
So please proceed with caution if you intend to eat or purchase these items for someone with a wheat allergy or coeliac disease, and unfortunately their Gluten & Wheat Free section suck so you won't find anything too exciting in there.
Did you know that Christopher Columbus first got his hands on cacao beans on 15 August 1502?
It was on his fourth and last voyage to the Americas, thank goodness he didn't stop at only making three...
... and there's also more than just chocolate eggs at Hotel Chocolat.
But if it's guaranteed gluten free eggs you want right now...
... The Chocolate Trading Company have just the thing. Booja Booja's chocolates are 100% organic, dairy, wheat & gluten free, suitable for vegetarians & vegans and to top it all are non-GMO. (Sadly these eggs are not a chocolate shell, but very pretty anyway and the chocs inside are tasty.)
